Lauren Choe LMFT, PMH-C

My love for my work grows out of genuine curiosity and deep respect for the uniqueness of each person’s challenges and strengths.

As we work together, I witness your story with careful attention, acceptance, and openness. I offer carefully considered questions and observations to support you in finding new clarity and understanding. From there, we collaborate to identify actions you can take to make change in your life.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an attorney. During that time, I began supporting friends and family as a birth partner, or doula, during one of life’s most profound and vulnerable moments—the arrival of a new baby. Witnessing the magic, and sometimes the fear, of this experience inspired me to pursue work that felt deeply meaningful. Gradually, I transitioned from law to counseling, where I could serve as a compassionate ally and witness to birthing persons.

Today, I support individuals and families navigating pregnancy and the transition into parenthood with care and understanding.

My approach is grounded in Narrative Therapy, which emphasizes collaboration and honors each person’s unique story without judgment. This aligns closely with my belief that everyone’s experience deserves respect, thoughtful attention, and openness. As a trained doula and certified perinatal mental health specialist, I bring both expertise and empathy to my work with birthing persons and their growing families.

I look forward to hearing your story, understanding your perspective, and partnering with you to support your journey toward becoming the person you want to be.
